A proud history

Both victories, and sufferings. Determination and courage, but also the severe consequences Serbia faced after the Great War. We remember all that every year on November 11, on the Day of Reconciliation in the First World War.

This fall, Natalie’s Ramonda on the lapel and a sense of pride could take you on a journey into the past and remind you of famous heroes, fearless heroines. You can take you to places that pride those brave men and women and to people who owe them their lives and freedom.

One of the first stops should be the Milunka Savic Memorial Room in Jošanicka Banja Spa, which will in a modern manner walk you through the difficult and heroic moments of this warrior. It is a reminder of the values she did not give up on and the victories she won.

Tourists are guided through her accomplishments in three segments. The central place of the exhibition is occupied by the interactive mosaic of Milunka's photographs, which hide authentic films from the Great War. The second segment consists of two improvised military trenches - Serbian and Austro-Hungarian, which should evoke the conditions in which Milunka fought. The third unit is an exhibition of objects from the period of the First World War - photographs, documents and the covers of the French daily "Le Petite Journal"

In Josanicka Banja Spa, visitors can also see a life-size monument to Milunka Savic.

Bearing in mind that cultural and historical heritage is one of the most important motives for a touristic visit, Jošanicka Banja Spa is a destination you must not miss.
