Even when it was only a small 14th-century settlement, Zrenjanin was an attractive spot due to its location. What was once only a strategically good position grew to become a romantic tourist attraction with numerous bridges. Take a walk and pause at the river bank at dusk when sun beams reflect against the Begej's water surface.

The town that sprung up around one of the river meanders welcomes you with its 10 bridges among which the famous iron bridge was designed at the office of no other than Gustave Eiffel.

Did you know that Zrenjanin once spanned over three islands and two peninsulas which made it nicknamed a Little Venice?

Even though you will be charmed by its central architecture, don't forget that this is where the famous 18th-century Serbian brewery originates. The Beer Museum now occupies the old industrial facility. You may decide to visit Zrenjanin at the time of the Beer Days in August and join the other half a million beer lovers who visit the festival annually.

Not far from the town, you will find Kaštel Ečka - an old castle built in 1820 where elegant balls were organized and composer France List used to play. There is always the Special Nature Reserve Carska Bara as an ideal place to escape the city bustle. The tourist season of Carska Bara begins in April.
