The month of November is traditionally reserved for the biennale dedicated to a great Serbian artist whose career took her all around the world's art scene.

Milena Pavlović Barili was born on November 5 (1909) when the event will start. It always gathers eminent artists. This year, this will be a display of 32 art works by 16 renowned authors. The official awards will once again be handed over to artists chosen by the expert committee.

The Milena Pavlović Barili Gallery in Požarevac, her hometown, houses a collection of oil paintings and drawings that reflects the contemporary art scene of the second half of the 20th century.

When you come here, you will be able to learn why they say that Barili was one of the most interesting figures in the European art scene between the two wars. Although she held a few exhibits in Serbia, she was almost forgotten in the country. She studied in Munich, and lived in Paris and the United States where she passed away in 1945.
