The ancient Romans knew that the grapes from Topola had a special taste and smell, so they named Vinča, the neighboring village, Vincea - after the quality of the wine. The black and white crops from that region were valued by Serbian rulers and kings who knew that the vineyards on the slopes of Oplenac would reward them with top quality products. The people of Šumadija region continue the tradition - for more than half a century they have been celebrating grapes and wine with the Oplenac Grape Harvest Festival.
And the 59th Oplenac Grape Harvest Festival, which the locals call "Topola Fair", is one of the most visited tourist events in Serbia. October is the month when numerous guests head to Topola to evaluate the harvest, enjoy the colors of autumn, the tastes and smells of local products.

In anticipation of the results, the hosts and guests will be able to enjoy the traditional assembly of folk art, which is an indispensable part of the Oplenac harvest fest.
