Yesterday, the Serbian government abolished the emergency situation in the territory of the Republic of Serbia which has been in force since 15 May due to floods that hit our country.

Even though parts of country are heavily affected and damaged, country's major tourism destinations have been left unscathed by the flooding and the tourism season is going on as planned.

Belgrade, except its suburb of Obrenovac, and Novi Sad have not been affected by the flooding, and this also applies to the northern province of Serbia – Vojvodina, as well as to the territories and mountain resorts of southern and eastern Serbia and the city of Nis being the centre of this area. Infrastructure has not been affected to the roads connecting the territories which are principle destinations for foreign tourism, and all tourism attractions are open as usual (more information on the road conditions at http://www.amss.org.rs , section in English) . Majority of the campsites are fully operational and already provide accommodation for the guests.

Belgrade Airport is running a normal timetable with no delays or cancellations to scheduled flights and river cruises on the Danube are being conducted as scheduled.

Hopefully, this natural disaster will not negatively affect the tourism season in Serbia, especially having in mind the important role of the tourism as an economy in the rebuilding efforts throughout the country.
