This museum is the most authentic of all the museums in the world dedicated to Tesla, as it houses thousands of documents and personal belongings of the famous scientist.
While lightning illuminates the walls of the mansion built in the ‘30s n of the XX century, and the curator explains how this phenomenon occurs, the eyes of all the curious tourists are focused on where they are originating – the luminous transformer with an energy of 500,000 volts!
This is just one of the most significant inventions of Nikola Tesla, Serbia’s most famous inventor and scientist, which can be seen live in his museum in Belgrade. There, in Vračar, a part of Belgrade, not far from Saint Sava’s temple, scientific magic happens every day, while Tesla’s experiments are re-enacted in Serbian and English in front of the audience just as they used to be in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
This museum is the most authentic of all the museums in the world dedicated to Tesla, as it houses thousands of Tesla’s documents, as well as his urn, clothes, boots, belt and gloves, each pair of which he used only once. There are also hats that he liked to wear, though he was never photographed in them.

Nikola Tesla only posed for a portrait once in his life, and that picture is in this museum.
Tesla did not like to waste time taking photos, and only once in his life did he pose for the extravagant Hungarian princess Vilma Parlaghy. As he was not satisfied with the lighting, he positioned lamps to shine through blue glass and thus the Blue Portrait was created, a replica of which can be found right here in Krunska Street.
Here you will also see Tesla’s crocodile skin bag, then the world’s first remote-controlled toy that he made in 1898 in New York, and you can also try out a transformer that makes “safe lightning”. They will sting your hand, but you will barely feel them. It will be a souvenir from Belgrade in the form of an unforgettable experience.
