On anti-stress therapy by the waterfall

With its 40 metres of height and 11 waterfalls, Ripaljka is one of the highest waterfalls in Serbia.

In order to feel the so-called Lenard effect, i.e. the pleasure felt as a waterfall gently sprays freshness over you, guests of Sokobanja usually first go to the most popular destination, Ripaljka. During the climb to one of the highest waterfalls in Serbia, at almost 40 metres with 11 cascades, even on the plateau at the foot, you will feel a lower temperature than in the spa, and the fresh drops of water will give your face and skin a dose of anti-stress elixir.

Sokobanja has everything a tourist destination needs: as many as 4 mountains around it, 2 lakes, 1 river and 6 springs of thermal mineral water.

Before visiting its green areas, take the park promenade to reach Hammam, the Turkish bath, which was built by the Turks on the foundations of a thermal bath from the Roman period. The water here is about 40 degrees and comes from three springs. You will also see the bathtub where Prince Miloš Obrenović bathed.

Did you know that in Sokobanja, you can sleep for longer and breathe more deeply, as the air is full of oxygen?

Children look forward to Sokobanja the most, which is no surprise as they can sleep longer here and breathe deeply, as the air is full of oxygen. While having fun in the aqua park and swimming pools, the little ones have no complaints, especially if they had previously smelled the scents of pines in the Borići picnic area. The pine trees bloom from May to June, and its beneficial effects are also felt during August.

How about a picnic near Šopur, a spring surrounded by a beech forest, or a barbecue at Kalinovica, a glade known for its cold-water springs, or finding the Stone of Love in the middle of a meadow at Očna? The choice is not easy, because there are plenty of picnic spots. Did you know that you can play badminton in the Čuka 2 forest park and at the Moravica river, while the most picturesque forest path is the one that leads to Lepterija, the most visited picnic area?

Adventurers can conquer the top of Rtanj, a magical mountain, and 7 July is ideal for that, when people go in search of 200 medicinal plants that grow here during the St. Jovan Biljober event. Then mountaineers and tourists learn to weave Ivanjdan wreaths and look for the famous aphrodisiac on the slopes of Rtanj.
