Museum of Naïve and Marginal Art

Recognisable for their bright colours and great amount of detail, the works of self-taught naïve artists are an authentic expression of a creative energy that does not heed any restrictions or rules.

The Museum of Naïve and Marginal Art in Jagodina aims to preserve and promote this type of art by collecting, researching, displaying and publishing it.

The magnificent building dating back to 1929, itself a work of art, contains more than 3,000 exhibits created from the 1930s to the present day.
Here you can enjoy the paintings, sculptures, drawings and etchings by more than 350 artists from all over the world, including the works of the most renowned Serbian and Yugoslav naïve artists. The rooms of the museum are a succession of scenes of everyday life, colorful landscapes, black and white etchings and sculptures of human figures and symbols.
To stay well-informed on the most interesting international developments in the world of naïve art, the museum hosts several events, including the Biennial and the Triennial of Art created by Self-Taught Visionaries, as well as the Colony of Naïve and Marginal Art, which brings the distinguished members of the non-academic visual arts community to Jagodina.
